Cemetery Wind, led by CIA Director Harold Attinger, hunt down Ratchet in New Orleans and gun him down, despite his pleas for mercy and being a medic. Though the UN offered them asylum, the Autobots vanished whilst in Mexico City. Years have passed since the defeat of the Decepticons, but the Autobots’ own damaged rep led to them become illegal immigrants. Hardened by grief and hate, she now hunts Transformers, regardless of faction, with cold contempt. Josie blacks out, and wakes up to find her daughter has died, and the Autobots haven’t come to save her.Ĭut to several years later, specifically 1996, where Josie has become a grounded black ops agent for a rogue CIA squad called “Cemetery Wind”. The arrival of Cybertron causes the town’s gravity to go out of whack, making Josie’s car to float into the air, before crashing to the ground. From her point of view, the Transformers, regardless of faction, are nightmarish death machines. Josie and her daughter Dulcy are caught in the battle in Jasper, Nevada, attempting to flee town, but find Transformers at every turn. Fans may recognise her name from the Marvel Comics as the supervillain Circuit Breaker. The film begins in 1987 during the Battle for Cybertron, from the point of view of a new human character named Josie Beller.
Anyway, without further ado, let’s get into the reimagining of Transformers: Age of Extinction. I might retroactively make Bumblebee canon to this reimagining, but that would alter the timeline, since my rewrite for Transformers 1 took place in 1984. Since I finished rewriting Dark of the Moon, Bumblebee came out, was amazing, and officially rebooted the Transformers film franchise. I’ve previously rewritten the preceding three films, and made some major changes, including the roster of Autobots and Decepticons, emphasizing more on the mythology, and making the focus balance out between the Transformers and the humans. There isn’t really much to change here, but Age of Extinction still needs a rewrite. The film was also ridiculously long, dragged out, and had way too much padding going on. It actually had a compelling if drawn out story, improved special effects, the Transformers were given a little more personality, and performances were good.
